(First off, very disoriented by the kindle e-library version I read. NO clue I was near the end because I guess six of crows and sequel excerpts form the bulk of this version? wtf)
*Clears throat* Yeah, I think I'm team unpopular opinion on this one. Love and made the mistake of reading the Six of Crows duology first, so...... I muchhhhhh prefer those. Inej and Nina totally own Alina - at least this introduction to her, and first impressions COUNT.

I’m late to the Grishaverse fandom but here I am drooling over this book.
I devoured Shadow and Bone in two days seeing that it was becoming a Netflix series gave me the push to FINALLY pick up the first book in the Grishaverse series. It took me long enough but now I am hooked!
I am not a fan of Fantasy that contains a ton of talking animals, mythical creatures, or over the top magic. Shadow and Bone definitely had the right amount of Fantasy to keep me entertained and wanting more. I didn’t wan ...more

New to me author and I'm lovin' it! I love the world of the Grisha and have high hopes for the rest of the series. This has such an interesting tie-in to old time Russia with layers of complexity. This may be a series I read again. Alina and Mal are childhood friends who grow up and grow apart but are both a part of amazing world events. I would like to know more about Mal, what he is thinking and feeling but I can wait in anticipation (at least until tomorrow when the next book in the series wi
