I was a junior in high school when Columbine happened. For me, it's the moment in history I will remember the most, the moment that affected me the most, and the moment in my opinion that greatly changed the US. It wasn't the first school shooting, although it certainly feels like it was. It was a media circus, and the first one I remembered that just loved to point fingers at everyone and everything- violence in video games, Marilyn Manson, the parents. This may be the hardest book I've ever had to read. Every page was harrowing or so quietly insightful I had to pause to absorb it. Not for the faint of heart - perhaps mandatory for all parents & people of influence in children's lives? ...more
