Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) in Vampire Academy

Frostbite was better than Vampire Academy in such magnitude that had me rocking like crazy. I was literally acting like a mentally disturbed human at the end of this book. It was not a slow start, which is a bonus, and every sort of feeling I had for the series sort of intensified as the plot's 'interesting meter' shot up. Dimka's sort of forbidden relationship with Rose, Christian's relationship with Liss, Mason and Rose, And I thought Vampire Academy was great, Frostbite had me gone balistic!

It was not a slow start, which is a bonus, and every sort of feeling I had for the series sort of intensified as the plot's 'interesting meter' shot up. Dimka's sort of forbidden relationship with Rose, Christian's relationship with Liss, Mason and Rose, the death of even more royal family, Strigoi attacks, and the appearance of Tasha Ozera (I love the name Ozera, I just do) and Janine Hathaway, and of course, the very mysterious and charming Adrian Ivashkov.

Eveyrthing added up and you get Frostbite. I was so absorbed in the story and in Frostbite, I could actually see Rose grow up. As much as I love her impulsiveness, her confidence, her bada** attitude, I was annoyed with her childishness, but to see her actually turning into a mature, think-things through guardian in the make, it was a relieving change. I was particularly amazed at her self-control when she had told Dimitri to accept Tasha (man, I loved and hated her. Because she's interested in Dimka, that sort of complicated things.) And her ferocity at protecting Mason, I mean, wow. I still couldn't get over that fact that Mason's dead. I liked Mason, he was like Heath in HON to me, personality wise, he was like Rose, though his presence was annoying at times, I pitied him because Rose had to use him like that, he was just a stand-in, but I was comforted to know that Rose at least feel sorry for what she had to do. (Blame Dimka, haha, just kidding....) When I read the part where Isaiah snapped Mason's neck, I wanted to shriek, and when I read the part where Mia had used her water powers to suffocate Isaiah, I wanted to jump, when I read the part where Christian fake-biting Rose, I was amazed, but non of it was to compare to my feelings when I was reading the part where Rose turned into a possessive, protective person as she huddled over Mason's dead body. That was the most touching part.

I swore tears flow down my cheeks when I picture Rose blaming herself for his death, non of this would've happened if Rose hadn't told Mason about the Strigois in Spokane, but like Dimka pointed out, it was a bad choice, and Mason had his fault in making bad choices too, so you can't really blame on solely one party. I was enlightened, I learnt that life was not all about blaming, it was all about choices.

It seemed to me that my review was scattered all over the place, and my emotions were flying in all sorts of directions, what I wanted to convey was, Frostbite was a exhilirating readign experience, from the happiness in the skiing resort, to the desperation and longing for Dimitri, dealing with silence, self-restrain, seeing your mum for the very first time (I mean, in a different point of view), feeling jealousy, and dealing with deaths, in real life, I think I'll go mental! So yeah, I admire Rose A LOT for she had that 'armour' around her.

Oooh, by the way, I swoon whenever Dimitri showed any sign of 'care' towards Rose, and the ending was a great one! And my 'fascination' towards Christian sort of perked up even higher and I was developing new feelings for Adrian (thanks to my goodread friends for leaking me spoilers about Adrian, haha). The high point of the story really had me going, with all those action and family drama (Rose and Janine), blast-ful read! A standing ovation for Richelle because her writing is just so good! I definitely have high hopes for Shadow Kissed and I heard it was the best!

Rose's life becomes even more exciting. For starters, Strigoi are attacking in coherent, organized groups, slaughtering royalty and their guardians with frightening ease. So far this is just amazing.
I had gone ahead and read the third book by accident, where Rose and Dimitri hook up hot and heavy
kinda interesting for a dhamphir and a moroi guardian, especially since she's 17, and he's 24.
Other than that, this book is awesome and I'm learning a little more on Christian. ...more

aaaw so cute!! His heart was always with Rose! How could she doubt it! Ahh I love them when they're both jealous it makes you realise how much they really love eachother.
