Handle with Care, written by Jodi Picoult is about a family who after a series of events goes and files a law suit that tears their family apart. Charlotte and Sean have two children that they love very much. Willow has osteogenesis imperfect, brittle bone disease, which causes her to break bones very easily. The couple files a wrongful birth lawsuit against the doctor, who is Charlotte’s best friend. The book takes you through the ups and downs of the family’s trial, family, and friendship fall outs. The book has a dramatic ending that shocked me.
The setting is a small town on the East coast over a period of time. There are conflicts within the family and friends. The biggest conflict is the family debating if wrongful birth is even a humane thing to think about.
I would give the book four and a half stars as I loved the book but some parts were a little slow. I would recommend this book to people who like reading about lawsuits, medical conditions, or other Jodi Picoult books. If you don’t have very much patience with books I would not recommend reading this book. There are 477 pages in the book.
