Opal is an only child and is raised by her dad who is a preacher. One day Opal goes to the market to get some groceries for her dad. A dog was running around all over the place and the manager says to take the dog to the pound if it doesn't have an owner. Opal feels really sorry for the dog and says that it's hers.
