This book is the fourth installment in this series. In this one, which is 17 years later, Indy is sent on an adventure to rescue his old college friend, Ox, in Peru. It turns out that whatever Ox was looking for so were the Soviets. They are after a crystal skull, not of this world, that has psychological powers. To stop the Soviets from getting to it, Indy takes it himself and tries to return it to Akator, an ancient Mayan city where the other skulls are.
The story takes place in Peru, 1957. It also has conflicts like Indy vs. the Soviets and Indy vs. himself.
I am a great lover of the Indiana Jones movies. When I found the book for the Kingdom of The Crystal Skull I had to read it for the descriptions and to see what Indy was thinking.
