This book is about an kid who had to help his parents by putting food on the table, it has a great message about life and death. And relationships you build during your life time.
This story is fiction and takes place in the hills of North Dakota during the 1900's. This story didnt have a lot to do with hunting it but more to do with providing for a family and the relationships he made. Some of the conflicts included not being able to find game to feed his family with, It was also very sad when his dad died, and it took a big toll on his life.
I gave this book 5 stars because it really caught my attention, This story was written for me, it parrelled my life in many ways, I don't have to provide for my family like he did but I do have to help out and pull my own weight. The reason a starting reading this book is I thought it was going to be about hunting and it was more than that it was all about family and I really liked that. I hope I can find more books like this. I will tell friends and family about this, my uncle gave me the book because he liked it so much.
