I think that City of bones was an amazing first book to the Mortal Instruments series because it introduces you to the characters and the Shadowhunter world. Out of 5 stars I would give it 4 stars because at times it took quite a lot to grip me back into the story.
*Spoiler alert* I couldn't believe that Clary's mum was married to Valentine though and Clary and Jace were brother and sister and Luke was a werewolf!!!

It is the best book ever, I love Cassandra Claire as a writer she is amazing! The Mortal Instruments series is amazing and grabs your attention write from the beginning with a amazing plot line and addicting love dramas which will get you hooked! I'm obsessed with this series! ❤️❤️❤️
