I can't believe it's all over and I'll no longer get to experience the neuroticism of my favorite fictional teenager turned young adult turned full-fledged adult.

I have mixed feelings about this final novel. The author wraps up the ending very quickly, and while there's sufficient closure between the two main characters, I wish the author incorporated her family and friends. These periphery characters have helped her grow in the previous four novels, and it wasn't enough to have them check in pe

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read and the perfect ending to a GREAT series. I love Jessica Darling and Marcus Flutie and found this book to be a pure delight. I rarely finish a book in a day, yet I barreled through this on a Sunday and abandoned all plans to savor this story. I didn't love the 4th book in this series (although didn't hate it either), but the rest of the books were joyful, fun, and entertaining reads. My heart was happy at the end of this book and although I'm sad for the Jess ...more

This was the conclusion to the series in which we follow Jessica Darling through high school and college and into her career. I picked up the first one Sloppy Firsts because I kept hearing so many great things about it. I'm still not sure why I continued the series other than to satisfy my curiosity. I felt like I must be missing something and that it had to get better.

Perfect Fifths is the reunion between Jessica and her high school sweetheart, Marcus Flutie. The awkward reunion is presented m

The last book of the Jessica Darling series, Perfect Fifths quickly closes the epic (love) story between Jessica and endless heartthrob Marcus Flutie. Filled with lovable "pretentiousness" (Megan McCafferty's word, not mine) and colorful characters, Fifths is an engrossing read and I found it difficult to put it down. I might have to read it again, slowly, just to get another feel for the book. There are four different sections in different types of narrative, which was slightly annoying. I miss ...more

This a good way to end the series. Jessica is all grown up with a job doing something she loves and now a future career goal. I loved the resolution of the Marcus/Jessica relationship. It made me wish that there were more to see them even older.
