This book was...odd. That would be one way of putting it. Ridiculous, interesting, and very weird are other keywords when describing this book, written by one of my favorite authors. I love the way she wrote the jessica darling series, especially the dialogue. I think the author tried to create that same type of language and dialogue in this book but it just didn't have the same effect. Also I don't appreciate stories that have development but no ending. It's one thing to leave with a cliffhange

To be honest, I wouldn't read this book if I had known what it was about, I would have skimmed. The only part about the book that kept me reading were the two main characters, Melody and Harmony.
The whole book was a bunch of cliches, some created by the author, some as obvious as the names Melody and Harmony. Basically, this is a dystopian novel where only the teens can have babies. This makes teens a hot commodity and a way to get revenue. Parents take advantage of their children's reproductiv ...more

I need the next book!! I really liked this one. So different! Preggin' For Profit!
This book took me a few pages to get into, but once I did I was hooked. I enjoyed Melody's voice far more than Harmony's, but I loved Harmony's story more. Each chapter alternated between Melody and Harmony, twins that couldn't be more different. I like books with different points of view like that. Keeps things interesting.
If you are looking for your next dystopian fix give Bumped a shot!

Bleh. A fun piece of spec-fic but not much depth or any relatable characters.

I'm only rating it 3 stars because it took a while for me to get into this book (luckily, it moves along pretty quickly, maybe TOO quickly at first and that's why I couldn't quite get a handle on the characters), but by the end I was very pleased and look forward to the next in the series!

I've read all of Megan McCafferty's books and love her writing, and voice, and stories. "Bumped" is a new series - not totally like the other though as it's set in a future where only teenagers can get pregnant due to a virus.
Highly recommend if you are a fan of her writing! ...more

3.5 stars.
At first I just couldn't get into this book, but I wanted to so bad. I love Megan McCafferty and wanted to love this book. While I didn't love it I ended up interested and glad that I stuck with it. I will read the next one when it comes out. ...more

Good, interesting read. It started out a little slow, but it picked up. I would have liked more of an ending but I guess I'll just have to wait for the sequel!

Very different, interesting concepts, confusing ending, hoping it is book one of two at the very least.
