Wonderful. The way the author's mind works is just wonderful to witness. The story was rather all over the place in a random, odds and ends way, (similar to Perdido Street Station) but I was so enthralled by the symbolism and interesting details/concepts of Torturers. Of course, I was expecting a lot more information about the Torturer Guild or just more focus, so I was rather surprised when the book then veered away from that.
