I gave SHADOW OF THE TORTURERS only three stars, having been greatly disappointed in Gene Wolfe’s character development and plot, In all fairness I half expected Wolfs books to be on the level of Joe Abercrombie’s Inquisitor Glokta, in THE BLADE ITSELF with characters like Logan Ninefingers and Captain Jezal . No such luck , while the book one of four starts off slow, nothing grabbed me in the book of four about a young Sevarian apprentice in the guild of Torturers on a world called Urth, exiled

My God .. this book is awful. I have the audio book and tired and tired to make to the end. Made it 7 hrs out of 12. Its nothing what you expect which is usually a good thing but in this case its bad. It was too much of a drag. I cant waste anymore time "reading" something so dull.
