Third time is the charm---Hopefully this will do this book justice.
I am going to try and do what feels impossible…here’s my review of The Eye of the World.

I am coming to this as someone who doesn’t read epic fantasy all that often. The writer who drags me into this genre is Brandon Sanderson with his high octane novels. This novel isn’t quite as good as Mistborn or Way of Kings, but it had lots of interesting things to keep me reading. The idea of magic being wielded almost exclusively by women is a cool idea. After long resisting, I finally succumbed. Full of cliche, especially in the beginning; there were at least 5 scenes that directly reminded me of Lord of the Rings which is 4 too many. However, as it progressed more an more unique elements came to to play and the suspense built to the point where I had to keep reading. And that is what matters most.
