Willis, Blackout (2010)
Willis, All Clear (2010)
These two titles are best treated as one, for they form a continuous narrative with a break point that appears arbitrary. To call this two-volume set Willis’s magnum opus is to upset any expectations we might have had were we to have been sent back to the 1990s and observed the advent of Doomsday Book, a roughly 225K-word epic that would seem to have set the high point, quantitatively at least, for almost any writer’s career.
