These two titles are best treated as one, for they form a continuous narrative with a break point that appears arbitrary. I feel a bit used. I've listened to the audiobook performed by Katherine Kellgren and apart from her over enunciating "pAAAsengers" she did several different types of British accents extremely well. Well enough that the boring characters in this book came to life. The banal things they overcome when things are going right for them, such as a character desperately seeking a black skirt or she'll get fired from her department store job. I'm torn about this book. The concept was lovely. Historians going back in time and needing to know and research every tiny detail to avoid bombs, death etc I had a good time for the first half and I was surprised how much tension the author was able to create, non-stop, every chapter. But after a while... it was just repetitive. This would have been a great read if it was half the length (just found out this book wasn't even the entire story... Part 2 was supposed to be all one book as well...) ...more

This is not a stand alone book, it is more like the first part of a play before the intermission. This book sets up the plot for the brilliant All Clear, make sure to have it on hand right away; I'm so happy I did!
