William Gibson's Neuromancer is quite possibly one of the densest reads I've voluntarily gone through EVER. Its like sitting down in the middle of a movie and you have no idea what is going on and you're piecing it together as you go but really, it would've helped to have the explanation and intro and all that because then all the concepts and ideas and terminology would totally make sense... and even though the book as a whole is pretty visually spectacular, it might've been way more awesomely

Hard to feel immersed in the world. Gibson has a very specific world in mind and you are dropped smack in the middle of it with only subtle context clues to help orient yourself to the terminology, descriptions, and sometimes even the characters. However, the plot is great. Much of it is achieved through dialogue which I appreciated.
