A nice combination of original & compelling "what if" ideas, clear exposition of some basic math & physics & history stuff it mentioned, competent characterization & overall good writing. It's probably among the best contemporary science fiction anthologies I've ever read.

4 stars for "Story of your life".
I read just one story from this book - "Story of your life" since the movie trailer (of Arrival) is amazing. I did like the story and the science aspects (Fermat's equation) that it talks about. But the climax did not make much sense. This story felt somewhat similar to "Childhood's end" by Arthur C. Clarke (where nothing happens, even though you are expecting something to happen in the story). But this was loads better than that book. I think this would make a g ...more
