I'm not really into YA novels. The Characters I read and write about are usually adult, but after reading the description, the story sounded interesting so I bought the book. Surprisingly, it lived up to all the hype. It has to be one of the best books I've read so far this year. Suzanne Collins has a gift for story telling, and I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

This. was. so. good. Many people (and reviews) raved about this novel but I was somewhat doubtful that it would be as good as everyone was saying. I was not expecting a new and exciting concept. Granted, it does run along the same lines as Battle Royale, Lord of the Flies, and Ender's Game (battle like aspects), but Collins brings a different sense. Also, the characters are superb. Amazing young adult novel set in a dystopian future society, in the US (though you wouldn't know it) after some sort of catastrophe. Totally awesome even when reading as an adult. The world was just so real, so compelling. I have to say, I've read plenty of vivid stories in the past, but this one gave me more dreams than any other series I've ever read. I dreamed I was there so many times. It is absolutely amazing, and you truly sympathize for the characters' sad, sorry plight. You are outraged
