What Members Thought
I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved the world building and magic system a lot so I enjoyed reading pages where there were descriptions about the world. But in other places which dealt with characterization, I got bored. I disliked all the characters and couldn’t relate to anything that any of these characters were feeling. O lume ciudată, cu un singur continent brăzdat de cutremure și vulcani a căror activitatea a și dus de-a lungul timpului la apariția celui de-al cincilea anotimp - ani lungi de iarnă ce au șters de pe fața pământului civilizații majore. This was a little difficult to get into. And I wasn’t a fan of the use and switching between second and third person narratives. That threw me for a while. But my goodness! That second half! I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did. I loved the characters by the end. The exploration of their characters, choices, desperation and pain were extremely uncomfortable but connected me to them strongly. And that magic system and world building was just astonishing! I didnt really pay attention to what this book was about, and at the beginning I was a little lost, but once everything started rolling and details started clicking into place, it was really awesome!
Gave up at 15% because I hated the writing, style, and most of all. The switching between 2nd person.
