If this is the 8th Harry Potter book (there's no such thing, by the way) then it's a one star.
If this is a Harry Potter fan-fiction, I'd say it would garner about three stars.
If this is an attempt to ridicule the legendary series, then it's a solid 5/5.

I am not sure if I am disappointed or confused or dissatisfied. All, probably. The very format of 'play script' erases all the glory of novelization and characterization. Chopped and inelegant sloppy work that should not have made it to the writte

Finally got my hands on a copy of this! Having read it in a day, I'm not quite sure how I feel. When I first began reading, it just didn't have the same flare that Rowling puts into her books. It was kinda corny and I could see how it was a raw idea that she made a short story of as more of a fantasy. But then the book began to grow on me and it was fun to be along on a different course. Now, that said, I was only able to enjoy it because I didn't take it seriously. I don't consider this a book ...more

I had a lot of problems with this book. It really had none of the depth of character or setting as the other books. I realize that this is a play and, consequently, it was limited in what it could do. However, I just really found no attachment to any of the main characters. As I was reading it, it also felt like a side story that would ultimately end with nothing of any consequence happening. The world would not change in any meaningful way.

If you are a Harry Potter fan, then it is a must read
