A big sf novel full of ideas and also bordering on horror this sequel to Hyperion can either blow you away or bore you silly.

I was a fan when I read it, but I never read it again.

I completely wasn't in the right headspace to appreciate Dan Simmons superb sequel to his amazing Hyperion. It's a dense, complex book likely to throw anyone who has enjoyed Hyperion for a loop as stylistically and narratively it's a completely different beast that eschews the Canterbury Tales structure and engaging narratives for a - on the surface - more conventional man against machine plaus epic spacewar saga.
