My greatest literary inspiration! 1984 introduced me to a new world and way of writing and fiction which still peaks my creative interest to this day. A masterful vision of the future, both believable, and critical at the same time. A must read for any literary enthusiast.

Simply put, my favorite book of all time. Orwell's clear portrayal of communism in the 1950's, embellished with amazing details of daily life amidst an overbearing government make for a truly great read. The subtleties are everywhere. From Victory Gin to the Ministry of Truth to Doublethink to the Ingsoc party slogan: War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength. 1984 is a wonderful and imaginitive story as well as a strong political statement that is still relevant today.
