I had this book on my to read shelf for many many years and I am glad I finally read it! I enjoyed our protagonist Heven and her boyfriend Sam however there was intense puppy love from the beginning which makes sense since it was a YA book. The story did drag on the paranormal aspect of finding out the truth but I was surprised to see a new twist in middle and end of the book. Totally, was not expecting this book to surprise me but it did with an extremely different paranormal story line than an ...more

Masuerade is the first book in Heven and Hell series by Cambria Hebert. But before reading this first book of the series you need to read the pre sequel called Before in order to understand how major the transformation of Heven from a popular teen girl used to be to a freak (that’s what she thinks anyway) and non popular among the people in her high school.

I absolutely loved this book! I read the prequel Before, which was also fabulous, and moved right on to this one. This book starts off with a bang and ends on a bang! There is never a dull moment in the book. I adored the heroine and especially the hero, he's so damn sweet! I really have nothing to say on this book that isn't good. I am so looking forward to the next book. I can't wait! ...more
