I’ve had this on my “To Read” list for a while and I’m so happy I’ve finally read this book!!!! This book is so relevant to society today. I had chills reading through this story. I’m not going to lie a couple of times i even shed a few tears because the way Angie told the story i felt like i was there experiencing everything with Starr. I can definitely see myself reading this book twice which is something i rarely do!
You can never know what it means to be Black in America unless you are Black. You can never understand the rage that Black people have to stifle every day when dealing with the police unless you are Black. You will never fully understand what "Black lives matter" means unless you are Black.
BUT
You can begin to understand our world and the struggle of it....and the beauty of it....and the strength of it if you READ THIS BOOK.
