I've read the main books in the series, but this is the first time I've tried one of the novellas. It fills in some question marks, and probably should be considered necessary to reading the main series.

Overall, a solid, action-packed, sweet novella! I liked it. I did want a more interesting personality or backstory for Janine, and also for Frederico, but perhaps the shorter-than-novel-length caused the writers to feel constrained.
