I listened to the original podcast of "Ancestor" some time ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. This version (June 22, 2010) is even better.

Monsters ARE real! But they don’t live in closets or under your bed… they were created by scientists in a lab. DNA combined to create the perfect predator. The only problem is, that’s not what was supposed to happen.

I'm a huge Sigler fan and loved "Infected" and "Contagious". This book however started off extremely strong but them became predictable as far as which characters were going to live or die. (Including the dog.) The writing is excellent and the last 40 pages I could not put down. But somehow even though I couldn't stop reading, it was more because I just wanted the book to end. I will continue to read everything he writes but was disappointed with
