This story is about a group of teens who are trapped in their school during a terrible blizzard, one that dumps 18 feet or more of snow over a period of days. I almost put the book down and gave up reading it after the first few pages because I found the narrator, Scott Weems, so annoying. I realize that the author was trying to make Weems' voice sound authentic, but, like, his use of "like", even outside of dialogue, was, like, very irritating. Solid pick for lovers of survival stories and Roland Smith. I think the story idea is so great that Northop was allowed to slack on execution some (which he did, but I don't care because, again, the story idea). This one is kind of begging for a companion book/follow up with THAT ENDING.

Read this in about three hours. One of those can't put down books. Everything that happened seemed possible, and likely, I mean, except for the thirteen foot snow fall...
But really, it could have been a lot more dire and crazy. Like sex in the hallways, destroying the school, resorting to cannibalism, etc. I was glad Northrop didn't go there.
