What Members Thought
This is an infuriating read - gossipy, repetitive, relentless - and yet he is serving his friends and acquaintances well, with his honesty. It seemed a rather old-fashioned book and wasn't as enjoyable as, say, The Farewell Symphony which I loved. His writing is slightly odd, stilted at times, florid at others. But I wouldn't miss a White book and that, I suppose, says a lot.
