I liked it. It kept my attention and I'm anxious to start the next book. The YA writing style was a quick read, but I closed the book wondering if 12-year-olds "get it." I wonder if the value of the themes of politics, sacrifice, power, love, and classism are able to be processed by the new age "young adult" (elementary school-aged kids.) But post-apocalyptic dystopia (or any post-apocalyptic for that matter) is not my genre of choice, so what do I know? It certainly made me think about our cult ...more

One of the best trilogies I've ever read. Writing is simple, but highly effective. Definitely a contender for the next Harry Potter-esque book series in terms of popularity and impact for kids and adults. Also, it's a great social commentary on the ridiculous of reality television. ...more
