This was such an excellent book. I got mad at life for getting in the way of me finishing it sooner. It was hard to put down. Syrie James has such a great ability to take a classic and further it and make it a work of classic historical fiction. This book answers all the unanswered questions from Stoker's "Dracula" and will definitely leave you wanting more. I have always admired Syrie James' previous novels and I was so excited to read her new one. And I wasn't disappointed.
The writing was wonderful and Syrie James makes you feel that you are in the time period of the book. After reading about Dracula from another perspective, I am thinking of re-reading the original Dracula by Bram Stoker again. ...more
