I liked this book, but somewhere in the middle I had trouble reading more than a page at a time. I think I just got bored with it. Its an amazing story, and the author does a great job of giving us background into Chris's life and the "Alaskan way", but it seemed to lack heart. I also got annoyed with the writers style because I felt like he was showing off his huge vocabulary the whole time. I felt like I needed a dictionary at my side the whole time.

Good story exept the fact that he wrote so much about all these other yahoos that died by mother nature because of lack of being prepared. I feel so much for this family, I can't justify his "great journey for what he believed in" He was a self rightious kid that felt everyone who tries to achieve in society is evil. I'm not saying I'm happy he's dead. I just feel for the family.
