I initially bought this book on a whim. I saw the pretty cover and had been wanting to read a new book, so I just went and bought it. I was worried that I might have wasted my money because I hadn't even read the back to see what it was about but I'm very delighted to say now that the Mortal Instruments is my favorite book series. It was one of the best buys of my life.

Overall: I gave City of Bones by Cassandra Clare 4.5 out of 5 stars because I genuinely liked this book, the characters, and the general tone. City of Bones starts off following Clary, a supposed 'Mundie' girl--meaning mundane, or non-magical--with her best friend, Simon, as they are entering the Pandemonium Club. Right from the start I liked City of Bones because of the multiple perspective used. It was nice throughout the entire book to see things from a slightly different view.

I already know that this series is a big deal and im just barely getting into it and now the movie is coming out and I don't like to be spoiler for the book after watching the movie so I got to it and picked up my copy.
its a great book, great characters, fell in love with Jace and his altitude
great plot twist and ending not so much of a chiffhanger
did enjoy the other characters and love to read more about them too
I will be for sure reading City of Ashes ...more

City of Bones I fell in love with the first second Jace was introduced into the story, he is such a dream. The first introduction of Jace to Clary with Simon at the Pandemonium was tantalizingly-awesome.

Seeing the movie trailer of City Of Bones, I'm jumping out of my bones just waiting for it and counting down the days until the movie comes, can't wait. ...more
