What Members Thought
The last 300 pages of this novel were like one, long, Victorians episode of Sex in the City. The commentary on sexism and the upper limits of a woman's reach in society are still very relevant. I also sensed a lot of lesbian undertones, but I wasn't able to find and criticism on the Internet to back that up. Good stuff.

Was this book this good back in high school when I read it the first time? I guess I just didn't fully appreciate it back then. What a beautiful book - story-wise and writing. Love these old classics. Inspired to go back to read some of my other old favorites.

A book I could read again and again. I think I have read this book 5 times. Each time I fall in love with the characters, and applaud Jane for her determination.
