it was a differnt kind of world, where plastic surgery is a normal thing.
In reading Uglies I found another post-apocalyptic teen novel, along the same vein as The Hunger Games and Divergent. It was well-done- I cared about the characters, the action kept my attention, and the overall theme was important- to be the self that's on the inside, and not focus so much on what's at only skin-deep level.
