The time travel stuff was kind of weird but also interesting. I like how this book really deals with friendships and how they evolve and change and how that is okay and normal.
I really wanted to find this book amazing. I just didn't. It was a good book, it just food not have that something special. The storyline was very good and I liked the way that it was written as Mira thought and figured it out. In that way I thought it was really good, I guess I was just looking for more. However it is the second book that made me want to reread a Wrinkle in Time...maybe that is a sign...I will admit later down the road I might reread this to see if my opinion changes.

I will have to read A Wrinkle in Time and When You Reach Me again to see if I think it's a 5. I was really surprised that I liked this book as much as I did. The hype distracted me and I had some negative expectations.

Maybe it's my foggy new-mother brain, or because I was mostly listening on my commute so perhaps not devoting my whole attention, or because her other books have been strictly realism, in any case, I did not see that coming! What a twist! (Although in retrospect, perhaps quite obvious).

Wonderful! A very quick read, but I'm not sure if that is because it is a book for middle schoolers, or because it is so hard to put down! Either way, I found it well written, engrossing, and just terrific. A must even if you aren't a big fan of YA books.

Everything made sense in the end! The young characters were real, feeling people with realistic relationships. And the things that really matter - friendship, family - were front and center the whole way.
