In 2013, they turned this book into a movie. I thought it was a rather disappointing movie because
1. They made the whole overall idea/plot of the book seem really really stupid
2. I did not like who they picked as Clary

I really didn’t think I would like this book (the endorsement from Stephenie Meyer on the front of my edition didn’t really help..), but I was pleasantly surprised. It was fast-paced and the alternate world seemed well-thought out. I liked the characters and their personalities and I can see why this is a popular YA book. I didn’t love it like a lot of people seem to, but I’ll most likely check out the next couple in the series.
