I was very frustrated with this book. The premise is good: Jake Epping, a high school teacher whose wife has just left him, is introduced to a time portal which will take him back to September 1958. He can stay in the past as long as he likes (hours or years) but will always return two minutes later than he left. His friend Al, who owns the diner where the portal is located, has travelled to the past multiple times and assures Jake that each time he goes is a "reset" which will start over again

11/22/63 is Stephen King at his best! The length of the book was epic, 11/22/63 weighs in at 849 pages, but it was worth the trip. This book made me laugh, cry and cheer! Jake Epping a thirty something high school English teacher is tasked with stopping Kennedy's assassination by his friend Al who happens to be dying of lung cancer. I saw the first two episodes of the mini-series on the plane and when I was following it up discovered that it's a book by Stephen King! It's very long, but goes fast b/c you can't put it down. I haven't seen the rest of the series but I suspect the book is better (they had already started changing things from the book in those first 2 episodes).
