Hm... where to start. First of all, I was excited to find out more about Christian's history in this book and I definitely wasn't let down in that aspect. I was happy for Ana that Christian nixed his Dominant habitats but at the same time, it felt so unreal, a complete personality change in a few days (although Ana's fears come from this fact). While I enjoyed the first book in this series, I found this one downright painful. I'd actually started reading it back in early 2013, but could not get into it. It took me two years to pick it up again and I vowed to finish it - no matter how long it took me to trudge through it.

I still don't buy that Christian wants more. I don't believe that Ana just broke him out of all his habits and he's finally seeing the way he's "supposed" to be. Having said that, Christian is actually the only characte While I enjoyed the first book in this series, I found this one downright painful. I still don't buy that Christian wants more. I don't believe that Ana just broke him out of all his habits and he's finally seeing the way he's "supposed" to be. Having said that, Christian is actually the only character I like. I think Ana is naive and childish. I think Mia is a brat. I hated Ana's boss. I think all the brothers dating sisters and all the friends intermingling and dating each others's sibling is too incest-like. It got to the point where if there was someone who was single, have no fear, because your best friend has a sibling you can date!

Ana's stupid behavior after the Leila thing irked me. She runs off with a friend and thinks that her relationship with Christian is over because he insists on helping an ex. Is she six?!

The story was painfully long, but really absolutely nothing happened. They went to some parties, had some sex, fought with Christian's child-molesting ex, and Christian continued his unhealthy stalker-like antics of following Ana, buying the company she works for, demanding that she use her blackberry, buying all of her photos from Jose, and insisting he know where she is at every given second.

And at this point, I was plain bored with the sex. Although I am still adamant that no virgin could have as much sex as Ana was having in book one, so consistently, without being in pain and needing a break, this book provoked more eye-rolling. No way they are still having sex four times a day months and months into the relationship, in the elevator, in the boat, in the shower. That's not how real relationships work.

And don't even get me started on the proposal. Marriage? Seriously? Could this be any more cliche at this point? I found the fact that they think marriage is the perfect next step for them, after only knowing each other for what, four months?, laughable. ...more

Definitely something enticing about these books and I will read the third sometime this summer. The writing is annoying and the predictability of the circumstances which lead to the sexual encounters reminds me of the cheesiness of a Harlequin Romance "novel". I don't consider myself well-read and I certainly haven't ever tried to write a book, but in my opinion, the writing is not good. ...more
