The Girl Who Fell from the Sky is a hard hitting debut novel that explores several tough subjects including race, substance abuse and domestic violence. A quick audiobook that I mostly enjoyed. While it's an adult novel, the language and main character make it a reasonable high school YA read as well. There is some sex, drinking, and minor drug use, but nothing that you won't already find in YA. The ending doesn't really tie up all the plot points but it's a realistic and appropriate close to the story.
