It was clear from the outset that I am not the target audience for this book. (A friend described it as "porn for mommies" but I felt compelled to see if the hype was merited.) My review in a nutshell: The writing is sub-bar and the premise is a bit far-fetched, although some of the encounters are interesting. I had high expectations for this book since everyone was saying how amazing it was. I should have known better because I never seem to like books that everyone loves. When I started, I hated it, Christian seemed weird and Ana was almost as annoying as Bella (from Twilight) with her "I'm not deserving" BS. I’m a writer and a reader, but I’m not big on writing reviews. They feel like book reports to me. The ones I have written in the past wither on the page when compared to those written by people who have even a minor talent for such assessments.

[Spoilers possible, though I divulge very little.] Once again, I wish goodreads offered half stars. I feel 3 stars are too little, but 4 are too many.
Having said that, Christian Grey obviously has issues. I was hoping they'd even get sorted out and we'd get to find out why in this book, but that didn't happen.

Wow, this book was amazing! I can't believe it ended the way it did and now I need book 2 asap!!! I was hooked from the first page and it was a really fast paced read. Loved it!
