Agatha is staying at an English seaside resort while recovering from an attack from a murder from a previous case that resulted in her having a bold spots. She is recommended to a witch, who gives her a remedy to her condition. The witcha nd her daughter are subsequently killed. While there a respected local detectives proposes marriage inwhich she accepts, but does not have romatic feelings for him. She can make bad decisions. She sleeps with her friend Charles and her finance finds them in bed together. She helps find the murder, obtains the title of a "loss woman," returns the ring to the dectetive, and finds he has found someone else.
