A Book Vacation

Although it’s already out in the UK, it hasn’t yet hit US bookshelves, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a hardcopy of this novel… it’s AMAZING (I read an ecopy from Netgalley)! Imagine waking up every morning not knowing where you are, not recognizing the man in your bed, or the face in the mirror? What if, each morning, you had to be reintroduced to your husband, learn what a cell phone is, trust a strange man who says he’s your doctor, but won’t let you tell your husband about him… what wou ...more

This one was just okay for me. I listened to the audio version and thought that the narrator did a good job. My main complaint is that it was too long and drawn out. Not only was the writing good, but it was written in such a way that it drew me in. The topic itself if a good one, but it still could have been done badly. I could see a lot of repeat and often wondered while this sat on ...more

While this is indeed an intriguing psychological thriller, my initial enthusiasm dwindled a bit as I guessed the big twist ending about half way through the book. Still it’s a well-paced debut that I kept reading even though the second half didn’t hold up quite as well as the first. I’ll be interested in reading more from Watson.

Grabbed me at the beginning...very thrilling yet sad story of a woman who loses her memory every time she falls asleep, and so lives the same day over and over. It did not keep my interest after I had solved the "mystery" of the cause of her illness. ...more
