[close] I thought that this book was really good. It had some of the same things as the movie, but also there was some things that were very different such as Lena and Kostos had a different meeting way and their family never hated one another. It was a good story and I can't wait to read the second book.

Even as an 'adult' (23-year-old), I love this series. Brashares does a great job of creating believable, likable characters. Every person who I've talked with about this book can relate to one or two or all of the girls. ...more

The social rules explicitly explains about each of the girls wearing traveling pants.

The girls knew each other as babies.

They each practiced abstinence.

They travel with the pants they each wear.

4 friends will all be going their separate way for the summer. They decide that one pair of pants, that magically fits all of them, will hold them together through the summer. They will each take some time to have an adventure in the pants and then mail them to the next person.
