This book is heavy on science but also good on character development. So don't let the science overwhelm you if that's not your thing, just go with the flow. (On the other hand if the SCIENCE part of sci-fi is what appeals to you, this is your book!) It's a pretty long book, but since most authors would have been tempted to split it into a trilogy, I appreciate Stephenson for getting the story told, even if it took awhile to do it. ...more
