[close] While this book is a quick read, it is not an easy read. The slimness of this book does not make it any less powerful. The author tells the story of his experience as a Jew in the concentration camps during WWII simply and clearly, leaving one's imagination to fill in the horrible details. It was sad to read that this experience made Elie Wiesel lose his faith in God, but perfectly understandable in light of his experience. Yet I admire Mr. Wiesel's efforts to remain human under the most inhumane circumstances. We are lucky that Elie Wiesel was courageous enough to tell his story in an attempt to prevent this terrible event in history from being forgotten or repeated in the future.
