What Members Thought
This was recommended to me by my child, so I really was not sure what to expect. Tui Sutherland creates this magnificent dragon dystopian world. It has more to it than what is explained on the back cover.
Cute. Pretty run-of-the-mill for this age group. By my 9-year-old daughter really liked it, so it appeals to the right audience.
I read this book because my students seem to love this series . However, after reading it, I'm considering pulling it from the library. I'm not sure it's really appropriate for the age group it is marketed to. There is a lot of killing and violence that went above what is really acceptable for a middle grade novel. Now I did think that the different types of dragons and their different characteristics was really interesting but the violence somewhat overshadowed the cool parts of this book. :/
