Pretty much, not sure why I gave this book 2 whole stars. It's a gigantic info dump, a character that acts and is treated like a child much younger than I think he was actually supposed to be. I enjoyed it for what it was, which is a YA novel. The story was a tad predictable at times, but it has a fresh, new feel to it. Cornish has an amazing attention to detail in this book, reminiscent of Tolkien. He has maps both of the entire world, known as the Half-Continent, and a zoomed in map of the area covered in Book 1. There is a HUGE index in the back, detailing how to pronounce certain names and general information about all things even remotely discussed in Foundling. To top it off, Co

Rarely does a novel spark my imagination with such ferocity. Foundling seemed a cross between Oliver Twist and Harry Potter. The characters in this children's fantasy were interesting, distinctive in voice, nuanced, and mostly grey.

I'm very interested to see where this series goes. It's a cool world with complex, believable characters.
