What a crazy story.
Some very well crafted characters, but it's really their own unique personal stories that shine the most. Various parts really had me "wow".
The plot slowly comes together and at the end it becomes something really epic.
I also loved how exposition was so well crafted by the author. It's not easy to do good exposition like this. One that does not feel forced, of being aware there's a reader in para-chutes in need of information. That manages to further develop characters and p ...more

Phenomenal and epic in every possible sense. This feels as if it could have been written yesterday, it's so cutting-edge and ahead of it's time. Gothic space opera is my bread and butter and I wish I'd read this one years ago. Can't wait to dive into the sequels.

4.5 stars.
This was fantastic. Half a star off because of the cliffhanger ending, but for readers of Sci-fi this is an absolute must read. Up there with Dune, Red Rising, Gap Cycle.
