This is one of my very favorite Pratchett books! I love the character of Vimes, and actually any book that involves him is up there for my favorite Pratchett book. This book is well written, humorous, and even though there are a lot of Discworld novels you don't have to read every single one in order, and in fact many of them are fine as stand alone books. This is actually a good one to start with if you were thinking of getting into Pratchett.

I just finished reading Guards! Guards! by Sir Terry Pratchett. 4 ish/5 stars. Another great and hilarious by Pratchett, although I think I do prefer Mort more. The setting and cast of Guards! Guards! does seem to make a good basis for a long series though, and they're already a loveable crew.
