In Het Laatste Rijk laten vele vulkanen al ruim duizend jaar as uit de hemel regenen. Zodra de avond aanbreekt wordt het land in een dikke mist gehuld. The Mistborn series is good without being great.
As other readers have commented, the use of allomancy as a means to accessing what we could loosely call 'magic powers' is clever. And much better than the scattergun approach used by other authors (eg. Tom Lloyd in Stormcaller).
I also like the characters, the plot is deep and full of twists and the land well thought out.
My major problem is the ending. Won't spoil it, but for me it's too contrived. Would be interesting to know if it was always his ...more
