At first this book sat in my to read pile for awhile. I always intended on getting to it, but some other book always popped up. Eventually I got around to picking it up, and boy am I annoyed that I didn't sooner!

I really liked this book. In tone it reminds me a lot of the Egil and Nix by Paul S. Kemp (which if you haven't yet read, you really should. The plot was fast paced, the characters were pretty awesome, and it was a really entertaining over all. I recommend this book to fans of Scott Lynch and Michael Sullivan. ...more

This book was an amazing debut debut novel for Douglas Hulick! This book was so AWESOME! The book begins with a bang: a torture scene. Its brilliantly written and keeps you constantly guessing! Half way through the book you so many questions that you feel overwhelmed.
